RENO, Nev. (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's wife has been released from a Virginia hospital, where she was taken after being seriously injured in a traffic accident.
Reid spokesman Jon Summers confirmed in an e-mail to The Associated Press on Sunday that Landra Reid has been released from Inova Fairfax Hospital.
The 69-year-old Landra Reid underwent surgery Friday to stabilize serious injuries suffered when a tractor-trailer rear-ended the minivan she and her daughter were riding in Thursday on an interstate highway near Washington, D.C. Summers said Landra Reid's condition was upgraded Saturday to good.
The Reids' daughter, 49-year-old Lana Barringer, suffered relatively minor injuries and was released from the hospital Thursday night.
Landra Reid suffered a broken neck, back and nose. The injuries were serious, but doctors said she wasn't at risk of paralysis.

No matter how much I can't stand Senator Reid and how glad I am going to be to see him go in November, I was saddened to lear about this tragic accident. I am also glad to see that no one was critically hurt by this.
I actually even made it a point to goto Senator Reid's Senate site to send him a quick email letting him know that he and his families are in some people's prayers right now. This guy is one of the most hated people in Congress and in Nevada and I figured not many people from around here would do something like that.
If anyone else want's to you can email him through his Senate site at www.reid.senate.gov
